| CAL NORTH ANNOUNCES TOP18 TEAMS FOLLOWING 2026 FAR WEST ODP CHAMPIONSHIPS Following the event, coaches nominated players from their team to be included in the Cal North TOP18 Teams for the 2026 Far West ODP Championships. In total, 36 players were recognized for their outstanding performance during the 2026 Far West ODP Championships in January. |

| A big congratulations to Cal North’s Gina Castañeda for being awarded the U.S. Soccer Kim Crabee Game Changers Award during the 2026 U.S. Soccer AGM. Gina is currently District 2 Commisioner and part of the Cal North Board of Directors. She also holds the U.S. Soccer “B” license and has been involved with the Cal North Olympic Development Program in various roles, currently head coach for the 2014 Girls. Furthermore, Castañeda has been a catalyst in her community, building Aztecas Youth Soccer Academy in 2008. Aztecas serves at-risk, primarily Latino youth though soccer and mentorship. Castañeda designed the program to provide an alternative to gang violence and crime. |

TOPS provides people with diverse abilities an opportunity to play soccer in a structured environment that is safe, fun, supportive, and inclusive. Deadline is this Sunday, March 22nd. |

By January 1, 2027, all coaches must be certified in CPR and AED use, and a comprehensive emergency response plan must be in place. |

A pillar of the Northern California soccer community as a player and NCAA champion coach, Marcus’ legacy as a mentor for others and leader in helping advance the sport in the region will be remembered always. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, former players and teammates. |
